Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited
The more serious, and more often charged crime, is called “Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited.” Essentially, a person charged with this crime is accused of using a computer to solicit a person he believes is a child for a sexual act.
A person charged with this crime is accused of knowingly using a computer on-line service, internet service, or local bulletin board service to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice a child or another person believed by that person to be a child, to commit any of the following:
- Sexual assault
- Indecent exposure
- Lewdness
- Endangering the welfare of a child
A conviction for this offense will be for a class A felony if that person believed the child was under 13 years old, otherwise it is a class B felony.
